Okami is a great game that anyone can enjoy. This is a great game for any age group. It has amazing production values and long and enjoyable adventures with plenty of side tasks. Celestial brush mechanic adds spice to battles and exploration. Quests are extremely varied and make good use of brush techniques. In the gaming world of slaying dragons, spitting fire, stealing cars, picking up hookers and shooting everyone you see, I find Okami to be a deep breath of fresh air. It is enticing and tantalizing in the purest form.
Okami offers runaway logs in raging rivers, funny little friends you meet along the way who speak gibberish, artistically creative scenery of rolling hills and beautiful pink blossoms that appear at the wave of your virtual paintbrush and so much more.
The images on the screen truly resemble that of a watercolor painting that has come to life.
This game is about causing life to come in all its beauty where disease has stolen life away. Trees that appear to be lifeless come alive right before your eyes in this wonderfully enhanced game called Okami.
No game will be without challenges of course or it wouldn’t be a “game”. While the obligation to fight off your enemies can be felt while playing Okami, you do have the option of trying to completely avoid enemy encounters represented by miniature haunted houses and flying scrolls. Combat moves rather swiftly so you can get on to replenishing the land.
There are secret treasures you can find along the way. There is no shortage of mini-games and puzzles to keep you thrilled with your gaming experience.
The Wii Okami has quite an advantage over the PS2 version due to the motion controls that Wii offers.
